American History Theater Auditions for 2017 shows

Auditions for “Speaking Out: Why I Stand” by Rachel McWilliams. An intense play about men and women dealing with sexual trauma and assault. Looking for six women and four men of varying ages. Performances are July 21, 22, 23 at the Women’s Museum of California at Liberty Station. Transportation stipend awarded. This play will be a part of a weekend workshop on the issues facing men and women in our military. Rehearsals begin in June.  As this is a play of monologues, rehearsals can be tailored to availability. Auditions are May 9 and 11 at 7pm at the Women’s Museum, 2730 Decatur Road, Liberty Station. Audition for “Golda’s Balcony” the one-woman production of the life of Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir. Production dates are September 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and October 1st at the Women’s Museum of California. Strong memorization skills needed. This play will be part of the Women’s History Theater Festival. Transportation stipend awarded. Rehearsals will begin in August. Auditions for “A Piece of My Heart” the story of six women who were sent to Vietnam. Casting for six women—Asian-American, African-American, Caucasian and Hispanic. Women must fit the military look—ages 18-40. Will cast military looking males for speaking lines and military combat scenes. Physical mobility required for this play about war. Auditions begin promptly on May 12th at 7pm and May 13th at 1pm at the Veterans Museum at Balboa Park. Cold readings. A private audition can be arranged. Prepared monologues accepted. Financial transportation stipend awarded. Production dates are December 8,9,10 and 15, 16, 17 at the Veterans Museum at Balboa Park. Rehearsals will begin in October.
