The award-winning North County Players is looking for an middle- to older-aged man to play the part PETER BAILEY (George Bailey's father) in a new adaptation of "It's a Wonderful Life" with shows taking place Dec. 7-17 in the San Marcos area.

The role of Peter Bailey is essential to establishing the play's tone. Ideally, we're looking for an actor who has had previous theater experience but will consider any person who can project a sense of being comfortable in his own skin when on stage. This is the perfect opportunity for, say, a retired man who would like to dip his toe back into stage work or has always wanted to act and believes he has something to offer.

SHOW DATES: Dec. 7, 8, 9, 10 (7pm) and 11 (2pm matinee) and 14, 15, 16 (7pm) and 17 (2pm matinee) at Charity Wings, near Cal State San Marcos.
SWEAT WEEK: Dec. 4, 5, and 6 (6-9pm)
REHEARSALS: generally twice a week, one in the evening (6-9pm) and one Sat. or Sun. afternoon (roughly 1-4pm) in the Escondido/San Marcos area (location still being determined).

Sorry, no pay this time. This is primarily a fundraiser for Charity Wings, an essential San Diego arts nonprofit, so you get a nice little pile of good karma; the opportunity to work with a fantastic, supportive ensemble (ZERO ego trips); and solid exposure that might well lead to paying gigs in the future.

Script available upon request. Contact the playwright/director Charles Carr by responding to this notice. (Carr is a longtime journalist and columnist for the Union-Tribune, Reader, Orange County Register, San Diego Magazine, and dozens of other So Cal and national outlets.) Please provide a headshot and/or a couple of casual pics and a bit of bio.
