Theatrical Services Tech II (Lighting & Effects)

Status: Part-time
Pay Rate: $14.07/hour

Basic Job Functions & Principle Duties
•Maintains all lighting and special effects for all show areas, attractions, facilities and special events.
•Enthusiastically represents SeaWorld by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job.
•Monitors and repairs theatrical elements at all show areas, attractions, facilities and special events.
•Opens and closes all venues, responds to trouble calls, and troubleshoots a variety of theatrical systems.
•Assists with the implementation of equipment maintenance schedules.
•May assist with the on-site coordination of vendors.
•Operates a variety of lighting equipment.
•Performs basic electrical job functions (calculate amperage, voltage, wattage, voltage drop, select proper cable size, etc.)
•Installs theatrical elements for seasonal shows and special events.
•Produces and maintains accurate documentation.
•Maintains safe work environment and adheres to safety requirements.
•Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Education & Training
•Must be at least 18 years of age.
•Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
•Must have a valid California driver’s license; out of state residents, active military, their dependents and students, must have a valid driver’s license and provide a copy of the DMV report from their state of residency.
•Must be able to obtain a SeaWorld driver's license.
•Must be able to obtain an SEA fork lift and man lift certificate.
•Must be proficient with the use of a VOM.
•Must have knowledge of operation and repair of current products from ETC, High End, Martin, Vari-Lite, Lemaitre, Snow Masters, Elation and/or Antari.
•Must have basic understanding of the following disciplines; theater maintenance, electrical theory, entertainment mechanics (motors, pneumatics and hydraulics).
•Must be proficient in soldering of circuit boards to repair equipment and creation of control cables.
•Must have strong understanding of signal flow for analog and digital controls.
•Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Must be able to operate a high-reach and forklift and be able to work at heights up to 90ft.
•Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and technical-related software preferred.
•College level theatrical courses or applicable industry training and/or certification preferred.
•1 year experience with theatrical lighting, special effects or theatrical rigging preferred.
•Basic knowledge and operational skills of theatrical lighting consoles preferred.

Hours & Availability
•Hours vary.
•Must have 4 days of unrestricted availability to include Saturdays and/or Sundays.
•Must be available late nights, early mornings, holidays, and weekends.
